It is now almost Elisha's second Christmas. She is doing well now. It has been a busy year. In July we found that she had some significant food allergies. She is allergic to wheat, oats and dairy. Since altering her diet she has made a tremendous amount of progress. She has almost completely caught up developmentally. They also decided she needed tubes in her ears, so in October they placed tubes in both ears, and now she is doing much better. She was very behind in her gross motor development (walking etc) but now she is doing so well the physical therapist no longer needs to see her. She was, as of August, at best about 6 months behind in her speech. Now 3 months later she is exactly where she should be. She has learned lots of words to speak and also uses lots of sign language to help her communicate what she is feeling or wanting. We are so excited. She seems to be learning or doing something new everyday. My other children love playing and loving on their baby sis. She now gets labs drawn once a month unless something happens, like her getting sick. God has brought us very far since July 2006. I have no idea where He will take us next. We appreciate any prayers on our behalf. Even though things are going well with Elisha there are still struggles that I would've never understood prior to this experience. But, as for now I am looking forward to sharing Christmas together. Happy Holidays to all that come across our story. I hope it is a blessing for you.
